| Description | This paper is dedicated to a comparison of the development, activities and powers of the governorship offices of Bohemia, Moravia, Upper Austria and Lower Austria in the 1620s. The unifying element for this comparison is the personality of Emperor Ferdinand II and his strategic goals in each country. At the same time, the personalities of the individual governors, i.e. Charles of Liechtenstein, Francis of Ditrichstein, Adam of Herberstorff and Leonhard Helfried of Meggau, are also presented. |
