| Description | The book offers a brief overview of otorhinolaryngology in childhood. Anatomical and functional notes are designed as the most important necessary data on the subject, incorporated for each organ. Diagnosis of all areas of paediatric otorhinolaryngology is based on current knowledge supplemented by the diagnostic procedures used, including the most modern technical examination aids and devices. Therapeutic procedures for each diagnosed disease include not only conservative procedures used in the fields of otorhinolaryngology and paediatrics, but also present modern surgical interventions and operations, in childhood exclusively under general anaesthesia. The book is intended not only for specialists in otorhinolaryngology and pediatrics, but also for medical students and physicians in preparation for certification. The individual organs discussed are conceived as separate chapters. The authors also point out the specifics of the diseases at different stages of child development compared to the adult population. The reader will find in the book clearly arranged up-to-date information, knowledge and experience concerning diseases and developmental defects in the ear, nose and paranasal sinuses, pharynx, larynx and soft tissues of the throat, as well as voice and speech disorders, both in terms of their etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, as well as modern therapeutic procedures.
