Description Surface-enhanced Raman spectrometry (SERS) belongs to optical methods, which signal encodes information on molecular vibrations of an analyte. It operates with the enhancement of inelastically scattered light (Raman scattering) on nanostructured plasmonic metal, which might push sensitivity of the measurements down to a single molecule level. Bimetallic nanocomposites are an interesting alternative to traditional metallic substrates, as they combine abilities of two type of metals. This allows tuning of the experimental conditions for superior SERS analyses.
