Description Despite advanced mathematical modelling and data processing tools, experiments using experimental animals are still an essential part of biomedical research. This paper presents a model of myocardial remodeling in the rat induced by pressure-volume overload with mineralocorticoid stimulation. The aim of the present study was to describe ECG waveform changes in rats with induced myocardial remodeling using the DOCA/salt model. At the same time, the study aimed to optimize the model in order to reduce the risk of tissue edema and slow the development of heart failure. Finally, the paper aims to highlight the importance and complexity of experiments using experimental animals.
