| Description | Downstream effect of impoundment on river macroinvertebrates was studied in the period of 1992-1999. Study results revealed indication potential of chironomid larvae for evaluation of river continuum disruption. It was proven that chironomids inhabit the middle reaches of streams in densities and taxa richness sufficient for using as a model group |
