| Description | The most common way to present results of GIS querying are choroplet maps nowadays. Color is a key feature of choroplet maps compilation. The color usage strongly impacts quality of a map output. GIS tools contemporary have implemented only a limited support of the color scale design. In other hand, usage of the above-mention support very often leads to misinterpretation of the map content. According to necessity of ensuring right interpretation of processed geodata, it appears such useful to extend GIS in the following directions: -To extend metadata with information related to the contextual visualization of the data -To implement visualization rules into the query language -To store safe color scales in GIS This article is focused on safe (in sense of its unique interpretation and its appropriate recognition) color scales design in WWW environment. The article is also focused on relation of the above-mentioned scales with the metadata model and query language extension. |
