| Description | The autors present their series of 60 surgically treated patients with ventricular tumors, 41 of which were primary ones. 14 tumors were localized in the third ventricle and 27 in the lateral ventricle. The type of tumor was assumed already from the CT and MR examiantions or the diagnosis was achieved by the stereotactic biopsy. The definitive confirmation was obtained by the postoperative histology. We prefered a transcotical microsurgical approach. The most frequent tumors in the presented series were meningeomas, colloid cysts and ependymomas. The overall postoperative mortality was 16%. |
