Description Cannabinoids are known to produce behavioural changes influencing on social interactions of the user. However, the experimental evidence in this field is rather poor. The present study investigated the influence of two cannabinoid receptor ligands on social behavioural acts in singly-housed male mice on dyadic agonistic interactions with the non-aggressive group-housed partners in neutral cages. The synthetic cannabinoid receptor agonist HU 210 caused a typical biphasic effects, low dose (0.01 mg/kg) produced stimulation of aggression in timid mice, while high doses (0.05 and 0.1 mg/kg) elicited inhibition. Cannabinoid receptor antagonist AM 251 (0.5 and 2.5 and 7.5 mg/kg) did not elicit any significant changes of the behaviour in aggressive mice, however acts pro-aggressively in timid mice.
