Description One of the changeover, that our society since 1989 passed through, is an change of the attitude towards the minors, till then rather concealing out of visual angle field of the majority. In our paper we have located on the minor, whereby unfamiliarity with and inexperience of the majority society (often in consequence of the simple ignorance and sensation of the superiority), in former times cause many wrong and incorrigible mistakes - on deaf. We have mentioned, how heterostereotype can influence the attitudes towards minority groups, we have theoretically enframed phenomena mentioned above. In the document body we supposed the change of the attitudes to be reflected on the change of terminology (both constructs and their affective and evaluative consequences). We mentioned various typologies of hearing disabilities to put more precisely our problems. We try to represent main trends of attitudes of our society to the handicapped and to the Deaf and we try to chronicle its terminology. We can resume its development: from term impaired people, handicapped people to people with special or additional needs, from term deaf-mute to deaf or the Deaf. We confront majoritys approach to with deafs one. In fine we noticed latest circumscription of deaf, its cultural definition that see the sense of term deaf as a cultural and language minority.
