| Description | Bundles of cortical microtubules of vegetative cells were completely disintegrated at the site of leser beam interference. In intact cysts, cortical microtubules were not detected Exposure of protective cysts to a laser beam resulted in surface perforation and subsequent leakage of cytoplasmic content, often including an undamaged macronucleus. |
