Description Process of electrochemical hydrogenation of fluorobenzene, chlorobenzene and bromobenzene as model halogenated aromatic compounds has been studied by means of DEMS technique. It was found that in conditions of our experiment (acid water solution, polycrystalline platinum electrode) the hydrogenation of benzene ring and dehalogenation occurs. The process proceeds at potential much more positive comparing to direct electrochemical reduction which is possible only in aprotic solution. Described process could be the principle of stored halogenated aromatic compounds liquidation in solution.
