| Description | Neural compressions caused by tumor growth or pathologic fracture are treated surgically if life expectancy exceeds 3 months. Vertebral compression (wedge) fractures without neural symptoms are indication for surgery in unstable conditions with imminent neural deficit. Orthopaedic management of significant lytic lesions or pathologic fractures of extremities are discussed. Indications of different internal fixation techniques are included. |
