Description The aim of this paper is to report the first part of results of an investigation into analysis of the inner proximal part of femur in adult individuals especially of calcar femorale and its changes to compare with age of death. The bone material studied consist of bones which coming from the osteological collection of the Institute of Anatomy Faculty of Medicine Masaryk university Brno (with known age) and from the anatomical dissection. The calcar femorale is an important spur of thickened bone that lies deep to the lesser trochanter but posterior to the neutral axis of the femoral neck. The metrical diameters of the proximal part of femur is studied here and the structure of the calcar femorale in order to better show its location by the anatomical dissection and various radiographic techniques, including tomograms and 3D reconstruction.
