| Description | The contribution is concerned with an analysis of commuting to Brno from 1991 to 2001. According to data on commuting intensity from 1991 and 2002 censuses the authors delimit commuting hinterland of Brno region. The analysis shows the rise in a number of commuting flows to Brno from greater distances (areas of Vysočina region included). In the period mentioned above there was a distinct enlargement of the citys commuting hinterland, which was however connected with simultaneous decrease in commuting intensity from municipalities in the nearest surroundings of Brno. A rise in commuters portion on occupied labour positions is also a significant fact, although the number of labour positions in Brno have not changed, regarding the increasing unemployment during the last ten years. |
