Description Weed communities of the Hostýnské vrchy Mts. are not well known so far. Only one impoverished community of alliance Caucalidion lappulae, Euphorbio-Melandrietum, has been established in the north-west part of the studied area. Communities of alliance Scleranthion annui are widespread throughout the whole area. Their species composition is very similar. Asociation Spergulo-Scleranthetum is common in the Hostýnské vrchy Mts., while Aphano-Matricarietum and Erophilo-Arabidopsietum are situated on periphery of the Hostýnské and Zlínské vrchy Mts. It is supposed that communities of Caucalidion lappulae alliance were more exposed, variable and spread in the past.
