Description | The contribution is based on the analysis of three authentic public radio discussions and concentrates on the use of comment clauses such as you know, you see, I mean, I think. The author shows that without contributing much to the informational content of a particular communicative situation CCs play important discourse functions in spoken interaction which they do not have in its written variety. |
