Description | Many cells of Trichormus variabilis show keritomy of their thylakoids. Most extensive areas of rounded and curly extended thylakoid membranes oppressing each other are seen in heterocytes, leaving only traces or no cytoplasm between them. These areas originate at the heterocyte poles, where they incline to form specific paracrystalline organelles. |
