Description Khentey Mts. occupies a vast territory of Mongolia north-east from the capital city Ulaanbaatar. This very complex mountain unit is based on Precambrian folded structures. Present forms resulted by erosion and denudation processes running in Upper Tertiary and in Quaternary here. Periglacial land forms in the ridge zone of Khentey Mts. at the elevation of 1300-1900 m are to be supposed as fossile ones. Regardless to this fact, it is surmised that in cold periods of historical time their development continued. Positions of cryoplanation terraces, free faces and slopes shows slope asymetry in N-S and W-E directions in western marginal parts of Khentey Mts.
