Description Skeletal remains of at least 87 persons (10 infantile, 9 juvenile, and 68 adult) were removed from the monastic cemetery of the Charitable Brethren Hospital in Brno. Medical-anthropological analysis showing, that there were skeletons with typical male signs, one skeleton was typically female only. The outstanding features of men were a short or medium long skull and an average stature of 169.5 cm. Most of them died in the fifth decennium. Traces of degenerative productive diseases (16.2 %, N=68), tertiary stage of syphilis (4.4 %, N=68), tuberculous inflammation of spine (1.5 %, N=68), cribra orbitalia (5.0 %, N=61) and hypoplasia of tooth enamel (3.3%, N=61) and one case of premature coalescence of squamosal suture have been noticed. The acquired data and the spectrum of findings of pathological skeletal changes fully correspond with the literary sources saying that the monastic cemetery was allocated for burying friars and inmates of the monastic hospital.
