Description The directive on e-commerce plays an important role in regulation of this phenomenon. The most important issue in this directive is the country of origin principle. This principle makes it easier to provide information society services among member states of the EC. This article focuses mainly on this principle which is often misunderstood and considered to be a choice of law norm. The outcome of this article is that this principle is rather a constitutional principle of the EC and a key factor for proper functioning of the internal market.
