Description The evaluation of the heart rate variability (HRV) from short-time record in children is difficult for a lack of reference values. Therefore the R-R intervals of 32 healthy children (19 boys and 13 girls), at the age of 10 to 12 years, was measured in a rest lying and standing position, using the system for short records VariaPulse TF-3. Next time domain and spectral analysis of HRV was performed. There was calculated the basal statistical characteristics of HRV parameters. The results, and mainly the figures, could be the basal values at clinical practise where the same measurement method is used.
