Description The main aims of the RAPI acute cerebral infarction is timely recanalization of cerebral arteries closed. Standard therapy in the time window within three hours of symptom onset is intravenous thrombolysis. Current research is focused on achieving both a higher percentage of recanalization (accelerated thrombolysis, interventional techniques), and on the selection of suitable candidates for thrombolysis beyond the 3 hour time window. The first part will deal with the intravenous, intra-arterial thrombolysis and combined. In the second part will be discussed later therapeutic procedures such as sonotrombolýza, mechanical recanalization and use of new thrombolytic or antiplatelet drugs. at the end second part will also be a brief overview of currently accepted practice and approved specific therapy of acute stroke with regard to the duration of symptoms.
