| Description | This article analyses the results of precipitation measurements taken at Těšín by the gymnasium teacher Leopold Jan Šeršník (1747-1814) in the period January 1777-January 1778. The amount of rain and melted snow was weighed in contemporary Vienna units, from which heights of precipitation totals in mm were calculated. Šeršník's observations are evaluated in terms of daily and monthly totals as well as number of precipitation days compared to documentary data and precipitation series from the Český Těšín station for the period 1961-2000. |
