Description The International Labour Organisation has been dealing with the protection of people with disabilities since the half of the last century. The first document relating to this issue aims to the vocational rehabilitation of disabled persons and takes form of Recommendation. Legally binding document concerning vocational rehabilitation and employment of disabled persons entered into force in 1985. The original conception prefered vocational rehabilitation in sheltered employment and sheltered workshops to placing the disabled persons in ordinary competitive employment. The recent form of protection is based on the equality of opportunities and social inclusion.
