Description Aspergillus fumigatus is responsible for hard infections in immunodeficient patients, so called invasive aspergillosis. Lectins present at A. fumigatus surface are of great importance for successful fixation of conidia on human epithelia. Understanding of their interactions with sugar moieties should help us understand A. fumigatus abilities and may play the key role in treatment. Based on sequenced genome there have been found at least 7 lectin-like proteins encoded so far. The aim of our study is bioinformatic search of A. fumigatus lectins followed by studying of recombinant lectins via molecular-biological and biochemical approaches.
