Citation
Description It is important to regard the wild character of external nature because of our intrinsic need to discover our own nature. It is possible to interpret the ideas of H. D. Thoreau, he emphasised seeking contact with wildness. Gary Snyder, contemporary American poet of wilderness, expresses himself in this very sense. It is rather surprising how close Thoreaus and Snyders concepts of wildness comes to the Greek physis. We have largely forgotten about this major aspect of nature.
