Description The teacher and pupils influence each other in the classroom. This influencing (interaction) defines to a certain extent the results of teaching and learning. Based on their personal characteristics and their beliefs about teaching, each teacher uses individual interaction patterns that then differ when applied to particular pupils in particular classes. This paper presents the design of a GA ČR research project that aims at a description and analysis of interaction patterns of lower secondary Physical Education teachers. The theoretical basis of the project lies in the systemic approach to interaction and communication and in Learys theory of interpersonal behaviour.
