Description | The changes of the estate judicial system after 1620 brought a number of competence limitations of the Provincial Court as compared with the previous period, but on the other hand also a clear attempt to systematize and streamline its functioning. The courts were legitimated by the ruler and operated with respect to his formal authority and legitimacy of decision making. But the level of everyday practise the estate courts simultaneously kept sufficient space to create autonomous decisions in the case processed. Gradually, provincial estates and their participation in the government of the province were renovated (influence on the composition of provincial judicial representation), as the conflict between the ruler and the estates ceased being the primary mover of political events. |
