Description The book offers a critical discussion of development of European/Western theoretical approaches to non-western societies. The book, consisting of nine chapters by four authors, is integrated by the idea that western theoretical thinking about development in non-western world undertook three major shifts, separating four different intellectual "projects": (a) colonial project, (b) project of modernity, (c) project of development, and (d) project of globalization. Individual "projects" consist of unique sets of discourses but at the same time they share many common features. Chapters of the book: 1. Introduction 2.
