Description This contribution arranges for a Czech reader the German point of view at particular problems allied to legal regulations regarding the language rights, in the first Czechoslovakia. The author focuses on both the domestic and international sources of languages rights. One of the most important sources is the Language Act from 1920. There are lots of examples from every-day practise included in this article so the reader is able to revise his or her possible belief, that there was no such thing as breach of rights of minorities in the first Czechoslovakia.
