| Description | The impact of the globalization is both positive and negative. The society is being individualised, but at the same time new power global centres are formed, where the elite should create global values. The tension in the society results from poverty, fear of the present, the future (political, economical, ecological) and terrorism. Where is the place of altruism in this process, is it obsolete or not? The analyses by Zygmunt Bauman and Ulrich Beck lead to pessimist conclusion, when pragmatism is overdriven by altruism. The way from the consumer freedom to public freedom or common well-being is going to be complicated. |
