Description This article deals with the German written juvenile literature of the last decade, especially with the topic of the Second World War. In the first paragraph, terms like contemporary historical juvenile literature or the literary communication among different generations are discussed. The second part of this article focuses on the writing of the German juvenile novelists Gudrun Pausewang and Peter Härtling. Their partly autobiographic juvenile novels Überleben and Reise gegen den Wind are analyzed. The most important topic in these books is the expulsion of the German citizens from Czechoslovakia after the Second World War in 1945.
