Description This article focuses on the situation of parents with children till 7 years in the Czech Labour Market according to data results of Labour-Force Survey 2007. We discuss the model of parents economic positions changes typical for the Czech Republic and present that mainly mothers are influenced by the interruption of their labour market participations. We have found strong homogeneity of preferences towards home care till 3 years of child, which can be also influenced by structural/institutional conditions. Mothers of smaller children are significantly endangered by risk of unemployment and risk of involuntary fixed-term contracts and have lesser chances for head/management positions. Fathers are not much influenced by parenthood but are more at risk of working long hours and evening work.
