Citation
Description The paper deals with the intellectual heritage of Emile Durkheim for modern sociology of religion. It presents Durkheim as a vital sociological source for identifying and analyzing modern forms of religion in the context of Western post-secular societies. The paper concentrates primarily on the Durkheimian concept of civil religion associated with works of Robert N. Bellah and Talcott Parsons, which is discussed in the broader context of the problem of social integration on the one hand and as a product of functionalist paradigm in sociology (of religion) on the other hand.
