Description thirty-two tooth based taxa of fishes were recorded from the Kienberg section. The assemblage is the richest and most diverse of the Late Langhian in the Vienna Basin. It indicates marine waters in a subtropical climate, with depths of more the 60m. The occurrence of Cetorhisnus parvus in the upper part of the section may be indicative of a slight cooling.
