Description Remote LIBS analysis focuses mainly on inorganic samples. The majority of applications are studies of geological samples with the possibility of extraterrestrial use. The possibility of explosive detection is also attractive and logical. Analysis of hot samples as, e.g., hot melts of liquid metals over a relatively short distance for remote sensing is also feasible. Here we present the development of a mobile remote LIBS setup currently in the shape of the laboratory configuration. The development of optics elements for laser focusing as well as for the plasma radiation collection and analysis is discussed.
