Description The after-war development of Czechoslovakia was a very difficult period. The political struggle in 1945 –1948 for the future character of the state and its further direction culminated in the governmental crisis in February 1948. Its solution finally decided not only about political, economic, but also about legal orientation of Czechoslovakia for four decades to come. Although already after 1945 a lot of political and legal documents indicated the direction of the future development (e.g. the Košice Governmental Scheme, Presidents nationalisation edicts of 1945, norms regulating the land reform, retribution judicature), what was the unambiguous impulse for essential changes in our law system was only the Constitution of 9 May, i.e. the constitutional Act No. 150/1948 Coll. of 9 May 1948.
