Description Infrared spectrometry was applied for the analysis of samples from the Roman Age ovens from Hrubá Vrbka and Mikulovice. The material was identified as a mixture of quarz and and carbonate, typical waste material in lime technology. According the shapes and positions of the spectral bands, thermal treatment with 800 Celsius degrees was estimated.
