Description Farmacoeconomics is a scientific discipline built on the principles of other disciplines (economics, pharmacology, epidemiology, statistics, etc.), which uses the comparison between costs and benefits of medicines and treatment approaches in order to determine their value. Pharmacoeconomic analyses evaluate therapeutic interventions in different healthcare systems using descriptive and analytical methods to provide a solid basis for the allocation of limited resources. This article provides a basic methodology for the creation of a pharmacoeconomic analysis and options, among which we may vote when preparing an economic assessment of a health technology.
