Description The nerves, tendons, tendon sheaths, joints, muscles and bursas of the upper extremity are the most frequently reported location of occupational diseases caused, precipitated or aggravated of excessive load upon extermities or caused by segmental vibrations. Diseases are characterized by discomfort, impairment, disability, motion sickness or persistent pain in joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues with physical manifestation. The author present a brief review of the most frequent occupationaly related nosological units encountered in clinical practice in the Czech Republic. In particular carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar neuropathy, entesopathies of humerus, chronic tendinitis and tenosynovitis of the upper extremity, rotator cuff syndrome and osteoarthritis are involved.
