Description Spinal muscular atrophy is a congenital neuromuscular disease with progressive course. The disease causes progressive loss of motor skills and, therefore, significantly impacts the life of the person and his/her possibilities. Education should be the main focus with children. The disease does not affect the mental capacity, therefore, integration is the recommended way of education. However, more support measures have to take place. This text presents results of a qualitative research. Support, assistance, helping aids and communication with the class and the family are very important.
