Description Corporal development is most often characterized by the values of body height. The growth of longitudinal parameters of the human body is influenced by a variety of factors. In order to be able to assess the effect of these factors, valid mathematical models for human growth are necessary. In this paper we attempt to categorize and summarize the principles of the models which are most used. More attention was paid to an innovative approach to individual human growth modelling, based on physiological principles of growth; the new modelling system is called Dynamic Phenotype.
