Description The target of the work presented here is finding individual characteristics of fathers or family factors and effects of their environment that contribute to the occurrence of injuries, particularly repeated ones. The strongest predictor of the future injury rate in fathers was their former injury rate and stressogenic events at their age up to 18 years. The future injury rate was strongly associated with severe injuries of brothers and sisters and respondents, their exposure to cruelty and experiencing psychological or psychiatric care in childhood. In adulthood, the risk factors included stressogenic events after their partners became pregnant, chronic diseases, neurotic problems, anxiousness, mental discomfort, low age and intensive physical activity.
