Description The iron ores of the Lahn-Dill type form stratidependent lenticular bodies, which are composed mainlz of hematite, magnetite, Fe-chlorite, calcite and quartz. Minor constituent iclude tourmaline, titanite, plagioclase, and minerals of the zoisite-epidoe group. The accumulations of iron oxides hosted by tholeitic basic volcanites are anomalous rather comparing with average chemical composition of the upper crust. The ore is crosscut by veinlets composed of quartz, calcite, albite, chlorite, bornite, digenite, chalcopyrite and beryl. The fluid inclusion study of quartz and calcite from veinlets showed homogenization temperatures of aqueous inclusions between 110 and 180 degrees Celsius, low fluid salinity (2.2 to 4.3 wt. % NaCl equiv.) and Na-Mg-Cl salt composition.
