Description The article deals with the providing of sensitive medical records for purposes of criminal proceedings. Law respects the privacy of patients (crime victims) and their free will to decide to whom and when these data would be given. Breaking the mandatory confidentiality of health workers is possible only with the consent of victim or in cases prescribed by law. The legislation is imperfect and allows the victim to manipulate with the approval. It is appropriate to consider its amendment and this article suggests possible solutions.
