Description This paper is concerned with government spending. The volume of government spending is still gradually increasing in recent years, not only in the Czech Republic. This increase can be caused by various factors, can be explained by several theoretical models of growth in government spending, including the Wagner’s law. After a brief theoretical definition, the paper compares the government spending in various countries, in the Czech Republic too. This paper also discusses briefly the structure of government spending.
