What competitions can you enter?

MU Grant to Support Excellent Diploma Theses and Dissertations 

Grants are awarded to outstanding Master's students for thesis-related research, with a starting date of March 1. You can be a project proposer if you are studying in a Master's or post-Master's degree programme at MU, and your Bachelor's thesis has been assessed with a final grade of A and was part of a previous successfully completed study.

If your bachelor's thesis was not part of your previous successful studies, you may submit a proposal if you are in the top 15% of the programme in terms of average grade achieved. The proposal is approved by the project supervisor. The project is submitted from November to the end of January and the results are published at the end of February.

MUNISS Competition

You can also help with the development of Brno. You will be able to use your potential for a smarter Brno and participate in the inter-university student competition Muniss, which is held in cooperation between the City of Brno and Masaryk University, Mendel University and the University of Technology. In teams composed of students from different disciplines, you will work together on projects focused on the development of the city, participate in workshops and consultations with experts.

A reward of up to 100,000 crowns will be distributed among the best teams.

Scholarship Programme to Support Technology in Teaching at Faculty of Arts MU

The aim of this programme is to provide financial support to student teaching assistants who create e-learning materials. Assistants must be students at the Faculty of Arts and the project leader can only be an academic staff member of the Faculty of Arts. A maximum of one project with a budget of CZK 10,000 - 30,000 can be submitted for the programme. These funds are intended exclusively for the payment of stipends to assistants.

ComMUNIty fund: Competition for Money for Student Projects

The aim of the MU internal competition is to support the implementation of sustainable projects that will fulfil and promote the social role of Masaryk University and will be internally and externally transferable. The essential condition is that you implement your project with a Masaryk University employee. You can submit projects in the three areas of Social Responsibility, Sustainable Infrastructure and Healthy Society with a primary focus on health and healthy lifestyles.

CRYTUR Prize for the Best Diploma Thesis in the Materials Sciences

The competition is announced by CRYTUR, spol. s.r.o. in cooperation with the CareerMarket.cz portal with the aim of rewarding the authors of the best master's theses with a focus on materials science (the study of the physical and chemical properties of materials, the technology of the processing and preparation of materials, and application of materials in physical fields). The submitted work must be written in Czech, Slovak or English. You can enter the competition yourself. Prizes are also available for thesis supervisors. The winners will receive a financial reward.

CRYTUR Prize

Brno Ph.D. Competition Talent

This competition is for those who are studying a doctoral programme in science and technology and are a student of one of the four partner universities in Brno. The scholarship will be awarded to the 25 best students who convince the expert committee of the excellence of their achievements and the quality of their proposed scientific project. The competition language is English. The registration and application deadline is in September.
