Advanced methods of light microscopy and image analysis (in Czech)
This course will introduce participants to the basic principles of quantitative phase imaging and methods capable of such imaging (holographic microscopy). The course will include a demonstration of its potential in cell biology. At the same time, the use of the technique in mechanobiology using fluidics will be presented. The course will also introduce participants to image analysis methods used to classify cellular processes (types of cell death) and predict these phenomena using (deep) machine learning methods.
The target group is anyone with an interest in microscopy and image analysis.

Light microscopy has undergone significant development in the last decade. Various innovative light imaging methods such as quantitative phase imaging and its subtypes have emerged. Compared to traditional light trechniques, this allows quantification of the dynamics of physical parameters of cells and tissues, such as the distribution of dry mass in space. This method is also suitable for automated image processing, as it does not contain the light artifacts found in traditional methods. Long-term monitorring of cell populations allows analysis of cellular processes over time - proliferation, death, migration, etc.
