Study for school councellors (in Czech)
The program is based primarily on the areas of work of an educational counselor in primary and secondary schools. It emphasizes in particular disciplines focused on educational and school counseling, professional and career counseling, counseling for the support of talented and gifted individuals, counseling focused on the prevention and management of socially pathological phenomena. The content of the study program meets the conditions of study for fulfilling other qualification requirements within the framework of further education of pedagogical workers, Section 8 of Decree No. 317/2005 Coll., on further education of pedagogical workers, accreditation commission and career system of pedagogical workers and is accredited in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports within the framework of DVPP.
The study program is intended for graduates of master's degree programs in teaching fields with two years of pedagogical practice (the specific subject combination is not decisive) who perform or would like to perform the function of educational counselor at school in the future.

- assess adequate ways of supporting pupils with special educational needs
Employment prospects
Decree No. 317/2005 Coll. on further education of pedagogical workers, accreditation commission and career system of pedagogical workers: § 8 Study for educational counselors (1) By studying for educational counselors, its graduate acquires specialization in a basic field focused on the field of pedagogy, special pedagogy and psychology. This specialization is a prerequisite for performing specialized methodological activities of an educational counselor.

2) Qualification Requirements
A qualified teacher with at least two years of teaching experience.
3) Documenting Education
- Official verification of the document confirming the completion of a university degree in education, or a master’s degree in a non-teaching field supplemented by pedagogical qualifications obtained through an accredited continuing education program (formerly supplementary pedagogical studies - DPS).
- Applicants must also provide proof of at least two years of teaching experience. (The type of specialization is not a determining factor.)
4) After the application period has ended, applicants will be contacted in the order in which their applications were received and will receive instructions for the course payment. The course fee is set at CZK 9,000 per semester. Payment is due prior to the start of each semester.
Graduates of MU do not need to provide official verification; a simple scan will suffice.
There are no entrance exams for this program. The order of applicants will be determined based on the date the application is received.
A maximum of 30 applicants will be accepted.
(The program will be opened if there are a sufficient number of applicants.)
