We would like to invite you to a unique discussion evening during which Kateřina Šimáčková, a judge of the European Court of Human Rights and an important personality of Czech and European judiciary, will introduce you to the issue of human rights. She has been in Strasbourg since December 2021, so don't miss this extraordinary opportunity to meet a leading human rights expert and gain deeper insight into the processes that affect all of our lives.
Kateřina Šimáčková, law graduate, judge at the European Court of Human Rights
Previously, she worked as a judge of the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Administrative Court and as a lawyer. She teaches at the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University in Brno, is a member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Law of Charles University and the Academic Assembly of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
She publishes on human rights and has (co)authored several books - e.g. Men's Law or Are Legal Rules Neutral?, Human Rights of the Elderly, Commentary on the Law on the Illegality of the Communist Regime and on Resistance to it, The Future of the State?, Human Rights (all in Czech). She was awarded the French Legion of Honour for her extraordinary commitment to human rights.
The event will be conducted in Czech language.
